Why Should You Attend this School?

"If you're looking for a guide school that not only teaches you how to tie a knot and pack a mule, put up camp, quarter animals and anything else you have to do when it comes to guiding-JB's "Top Knot" Guide School at Dome Mountain Ranch is the best choice.  While you are there you will also learn how to treat your customers from a Dell Carnegie point of view.  I highly recommend Jim and Lennae at Dome Mountain Ranch- "

Wayne Carlton, Famous Outdoor Personality (Hunter's Specialties)

"Timing is Everything"-Top Knot Guide School is conducted during early fall when Elk are most active and vocal.  We are one of the few guide schools that offer in the field training during the actual hunting season. Obviously, this will provide the student with invaluable knowledge.  Most rifle seasons follow in the next few weeks.  Again, our research tells us that this is when Outfitters are searching for guides who can "take the bull by the horns" and help the most.

We researched many other guide schools and wanted to create something unique that would attract even the biggest skeptic.  The mission of JB Klyap's "Top-Knot" Elk Hunting guide school is to bring out the best in you, giving you the foundational skills to become a confident and successful guide.

One of the keys to becoming a guide is simply getting on board with a good outfitter.  Good Outfitters recognize that their guides can make them or break them; we work towards building guides that outfitters can count on to make a difference and become a pivotal part of a quality team.

"You can have all the horse, mule, packing, and hunting experience in the world, but without the ingredients provided by "Top-Knot" Elk Hunting Guide School you may still not have what it takes to become a guide."
